Studio Production Unit: Ideas for Pitch
Our next unit is a whole year project in which we all work on a studio based 30 minute TV show, taking part in our designated roles and also before the idea is chosen, each of us pitch our own ideas for the show.
For my idea I would like to like the programme's theme around sport. In order to create something original and not been done before I need to see what is currently on our screens.
A Question of Sport
For my idea I would like to like the programme's theme around sport. In order to create something original and not been done before I need to see what is currently on our screens.
A Question of Sport
'A question of sport' has a very structured, sit down, question based feel to the show. It is rare to see participants in the show leave their seats, which is particularly something I would like to have within my show. If possible I would like the show to run with a little more of an anarchic feel. However the theme of sports and the questions within the show are engaging and the set has an interesting style.
Celebrity Juice
I find that Celebrity Juice's anarchic style almost makes the show. That along with Keith Lemon, who provides a very unique style of presenting. While the style and basis of the show is something that I am looking to avoid due to the lack of access to celebs and the restrictions regarding budget, the comedic style and the crude out of control nature of the show is something I would like to replicate.
Never Mind the Buzzcocks
The host to this programme, Simon Amstel has the comedic style that I feel would be perfect for the role of the host to my show. A dry and satirical sense of humour playing the role as a referee who puts contestants in their place with quick wit and and interesting take on punchlines. This style of host allows him to be a source of entertainment in himself, thus preventing lull's in the show's entertainment level.
This research has aided me well and I believe that an interesting and funny show can be brought out of the ideas from other existing shows.
