Digital News Production: Change in Topic
We came together as a group to discuss our progress and delegate work to one another to make the planning process go as smoothly as possible and came on to the subject of our topic question; 'Are video games being released broken' and found that the topic needed some amending.
We found that it took all of one google search to answer that question immediately with hundreds of examples and reviews into the bugs and glitches of new release games. Also Harry, Meg and I experiencing this first hand we knew that the question simply wasn't right. Potential viewers of the video would read the question and simply say "yes" and not click which is not at all what we want.
By adding one simply word however we have made our topic much more concise and addressing a point in particular. The question is now; 'Why are video games being released broken'.
It may seem strange but this question is immediately more enticing as, for a gamer, one of the most frustrating things is buying a game you have been looking forward too for months to get it home and it turn out to be border line unplayable. This simply change appeals to those gamers who have been their and felt the frustration and will feel that now they will be finally given answers. This updated question also connects with gamers a lot better, by asking the first question it screams old news and would be similar in the film world as discussing why Tarantino films have so much violence in them. The question is already answered or has been talked about enough.
