Commission: Senna

One of my personal favorite documentaries, 'Senna' (2010) is a British Documentary following the life of Formula One legend Ayrton Senna. This documentary is absolutely brilliant and effectively draws in the attention of the audience as the film take us on a journey through the good times and bad mainly through the use of archive footage and interviews with family members, close friends and driving rivals such as Alain Prost.

Personally I have not been too interested in Formula One as a sport but after watching this documentary I became fascinated to learn more about the sport and the old fashioned racing prior to modern F1. Which is exactly what you want from a great documentary.

Watching this film gave me a few ideas for Alex's and my documentary. To make sure that our film is not too interview heavy and has the interesting visuals accompanying a good story-line. We don't want to create a boring interview based type documentary, we would rather have the most interesting.

  1. Well done for exploring the genre, but much more detailed critical analysis needed re storytelling, structure, narrative, characters, shooting/coverage etc to demonstrate learning
