Commission: Interview with Royce and Kim Parker

We recently had two of our final interviews for our documentary with Royce and Kim Parker. We spoke to them both about the subject and were keen to get involved and have their say about the dangers of concussion in rugby, especially youth.

We spoke to Kim first, and as a wife and mother in a rugby family we looked at the safety aspect of the sport and explored how she would feel on the sideline and her knowledge of concussion. She expressed some very interesting views and praised coaches and explained how hard it must be to be a coach when you have parents relying on them to look after their children which proved to be a very interesting point.

We then spoke to Royce, and as an ex-player and coach we looked at the responsibilities that came with being a coach and the totally different aspects of the game from coach to player. He expressed some interesting views on concussion and how it has changed since he played but how important it is to have been recognized and taken seriously.

I would like to thank both Kim and Royce for their time and valuable input into the interviews. This concludes our interview footage and we are now working on actuality and other accompanying shots.
