Directions Unit: Organisation and Preparation
With my filming days fast approaching I am exciting and confident to begin. The majority of this week has been spent making sure all paperwork is complete and all props and equipment are in place and ready. The locations are set and I am pretty much ready to film.
I have also organised my character makeup and outfit description and also have been busy trying to get a good looking and realistic fake blood look as it spatters and found the perfect tool. As you can see by the shirt the effects and the method is very simple as I have used a simple squirting gun from the top of any spray cleaning product and mixed the fake blood with water to dilute it and give a wider spread realistic blood spray. Something with works perfectly and looks brilliant with such a simple method.
From Simon's advice I drew out a storyboard to help get my thoughts down on paper and as I was unaware, Scorsese uses this method in order to organise and plan his shoots. It has helped me plan my shooting times and understand all coverage and all angles I am getting.
I also further organised my shooting days by coming up with a floor plan, basic shot list and time table just to make sure I have a clear picture of exactly what I need as soon as I get there.
