Lighting Workshop
Today we had a workshop with Fergus on how to have good effective lighting on our shoots and how to make sure scenes are lit to fit within the story and correlate with the theme. We looked at low key and high key lighting, and how it is done, also focusing on how film noir is shot which seriously helped me with ideas towards my own film.
I wanted to replicate the use of shadows to introduce characters so today this is what I primarily focused on, my first part. I am looking to cast hard shadows within my first scene so high key lighting with the use of sharp shadows and a kind of spotlight effect. Each take I tried to effectively use shadows to convey convincing violence and create a dark atmosphere.
