Filming Practice: 180 Rule and Audio

We have now been introduced to the 180 degree rule and how breaking the rule unintentionally can confuse the audience and throw them off the general feel for the room. Also breaking the 180 rule on set can show filming equipment and expose the set as a 'mistake'.

Today was also the first time filming with audio, getting a feel for the microphone through fitting and using the audio equipment. Also using different microphone covers for different environments and scenarios.

I did identify once watching the filmed clips again how hard it is to get a good idea whether or not the audio is good at a noisy environment which meant I should have taken a few more takes just to be sure.

Also a shot I used to follow the feet of one of my actors came out very shaky and showed me that i need to get to grips with camera handling and learn how to move with the camera to avoid shaky camera movement.
