Professional Practice: Dockyard Recce

In order for me to block out how i was to cover the festival, I had to get a first hand idea of the location. To go and see where the best areas of coverage are. To understand access to certain areas and where the best places for establishing shots would be.

On my recce of The Dockyard, my main focus was to find the best places to cover large crowds and areas of main public interest. For this i looked for elevated positions of which my field of coverage was relatively uninterrupted by buildings or vehicles panning shots and zooming. Below are some pictures of the establishing shots that i thought could look good and plan to use on the day of the festival.

The recce was hugely beneficial to my research and the team at the Dockyard were a massive help in allowing me to all areas to achieve the best looking shots. It also gave me an idea into the best areas together and areas of which would see the most public presence, to fulfill the brief and shoot the festival at it's busiest.
